What life is made up of

Ok, so I do not know why but I just feel like sharing my idea of what life is made up of. Please spend some time to comment and tell me if you guys agree.

To me, life is made up of five things. YES, just 5 things. I feel if you have all these 5 aspects, your life is settled, you should be living a good life and you should feel really grateful and thankful for the things that you have. So what are these 5 things? Well they are, in order of importance,

-Love
-Family & Friends
-Religion
-Money
-Status

Do you agree?

So let me elaborate more on each of these different aspects.

Love
Instantly, the first thing that is coming to your mind right now is finding your spouse or if at a younger age getting a girlfriend. Well yes, that is what love is, but that is only part of it. To me, the more important part of Love is the love for other people around you, your friends, family, the needy or anybody actually. My closer friends will know that I find that very important, though I don't seem to love and care much about others. I actually do.

So yea, that is the most important thing in the world for me, cause if there come a day where your family does not want you anymore, you have no friends, no more money, you fail in your career but you still are a good person, I still feel you are living an alright life. Not fantastic but still good enough.

You guys may ask, but what for? My life is already screwed, doing good deeds is not going to get me money or buy me a status somewhere. Let me tell you what for, NOTHING, absolutely nothing. You are just doing it because it is the right thing to do. That is also another reason why Love is right on top of my list, because it is the hardest to have. It is easier to find the love of your life but that is only one part. This other, more important part of love is much more difficult to find as it takes a lot of self-sacrificing and that is something very rare in our modern day life.

Family & Friends

Why is family & friends second on the list? Wait, family does not necessarily mean your biological parents, because some parents give their child up for adoption and all that other complicated situations. So yea, family is the people or person who raised you when you were young.

I know, most of the children, youths and even adults nowadays feel they are very independent and they feel like, I can live on my own and they feel like they were the ones who were responsible for all their achievements in their life. Well yes you might be responsible for most of it, but there was a time where your family played a part and without that, you are nothing. Your success and everything that you have, is not entirely YOURS.

You might say, but no what, my family every time very busy, they never cared for me much. From a young age I took care of myself! If you tell me that, I will post this question to you "Are you trying to tell me the day you were born, you got up, walked and went to find your own food and all other necessities of life?" If you did, call me up right now and tell me. This is therefore, what a bunch of people who couldn’t do enough on their own and had to take credit for someone else’s work came up with. Yea, you may have taken care of yourself from young. But if your family did not give you the basic needs for first few years of your life you wouldn't have lived long enough to take care of yourself. SO you owe that much to your family.

This is one aspect I am sure many of you will agree. Friends are something very important in our life as youths. Why? Because our parents may not understand us as well as our friends do due to reasons such as age gap, different morals etc. But how many of us can say we have real friends? I know tons of people who seem to have millions of friends. Everywhere they go, they seem to bump into people and they seem to be so popular. But I have seen these same people panic and shiver when they are in trouble because they couldn’t get help from a single one of this truckload of friends. Why? Simply because they are only there in good times. These are not friends, they are acquaintances. Friends are also not the people who are always free to go out with you anytime you want. They are also not the ones who spend the most money on you. What I feel makes a real friend, is one who you can not meet for a long time and when you do meet that person, it is like you just met him/her yesterday. This shows trust, because you can readily tell the person you latest secrets with no fear or worry that it will ever be out. Basically what I am trying to say is that a real friend to me, cannot be measured by physical means instead it is a feeling that you have that just allows you to know that, this particular person is a real friend.

Religion
Well, a lot of people, both youths and adults alike pay little attention to this aspect. A lot of people do not even believe that there is a god, well that is absolute rubbish. There definitely is a God, maybe not how we perceive him to be but God definitely exists. I myself am a Roman Catholic, although I might skip Church every now and then but well the main thing is that I do believe in my religion with no doubts and I am not in it just because I was born into a catholic family.

My family can be considered one of the few more devoted Catholics. My parents and grandparents will never ever skip a single session of mass or at least not for the past 19 years of my life. Even when we go on holidays, my dad will ensure he finds a church if the vacation were to stretch across the weekend. They pray on a daily basis, and they take the church teachings very seriously. I must say, church has taught me a lot of values too, much more than any government school education will ever teach me. Yes, I may not display it but it is in me somewhere, my closer friends will know and this might surprise you but I do pray regularly, more often than not in times of need but there are times where I just pray for other people.

Now people will start telling me there that I am wasting my time because there isn’t a God because you cannot see him. But let me ask you this, do you think that for thousands of years, all the millions of accounts that make up the bible are fake? That is your god right there, it is living proof. Plus, the Muslim Religion has the bible called the Quran that is quite similar to ours. How can two totally different religions record similar happenings if it were untrue? There are so many miracles that take place in our lives that is attributed to God but people out there just do not want to believe this fact.

I have a reason for this as well. They just do not want to believe that there is a power higher than science. That’s why they come up with the big bang theory and other myths like that. But there is one miracle in the Catholic religion I heard no theories about and that is because, I think no one can come up with any.

There is this Saint called Bernadette, she passed in 1879 but her body is not even a single bit decomposed till now. You can see if first hand for yourself at Chapel of Saint Bernadette in Nevers, France. Explain that.

Money
It is sad, but yes nowadays money is one of the most important things in our life, not the MOST but yes it is relatively important. The world nowadays is all about money and that is why for one to survive in this world, you do need to have money. It can buy you a lot of things, but not long term happiness.

It is also true that money is the root of all evil, look at our world today, nations are fighting because of money and innocent lives are being destroyed because of money.
Murder, Blackmail, Scams, lies, cheats, backstabbing and actually anything bad there will be some link to money. It just gives people this greed where you want more and more and more till it takes control of you.

Yes, this is the pathetic world we live in where pieces of paper make people think they are happy. Happy are the poor who can fine joy in the simple pleasures of life, for they are the ones who are actually truly happy.

Status
This is linked to money. Yes, once again sad to say, status is important in our lives now. It plays a big part in how people perceive you to be or what people think of you. It is very stupid but that’s the sad truth. Therefore, being a victim of modern day society I have to conform to this rubbish because that is what the world has become.

A simple example, someone introduces himself and says he is the CEO of a big company, instantly what comes to you mind? I bet my life, the same thing that goes through 9/10 peoples minds. That guy is very smart, very rich, has very high qualifications and must also be very hard-working to be where he is today. If given a chance you would want to be like him. Then another man introduces himself, a road sweeper, nothing more. What comes to your mind? This guy must have wasted his life, no qualifications, never study hard and lazy. You rather die than be like him.

That kind of thinking only goes through the minds of the dumbest people and sadly that makes up most of the world. Have you ever thought that the latter just did not have a CHANCE to do what he wanted? So actually, what you are saying is that only people who are lucky enough to have that chance are worthy people. That’s like saying if you have no luck you are useless. Listen to yourselves for once. Isn’t what the majority of you saying just plain stupid? Well you might say that chances can be made, yes that is partly true but some people are just not born with the ability to do so. Therefore, find out more about that person before to stereotype a person just because of his status.
And you know something? I willing to bet everything I have, that 8/10 people of lower status people are better hearted people than those with higher status. Strange isn’t it, but yea its true. A few examples, Jesus Christ, Mother Theresa and Gandhi were all people with no high status in multi million dollar companies, yet there hearts are much richer than the heart of Donald trump, a multi billion dollar man.

So all you people who have read this, these are what I feel, are the pillars of life.
I am also very grateful, that out of these 5 pillars I am blessed with four, an excellent family who really cares for me selflessly and a big group of real and true friends, a good strong religion which I truly believe in, enough money to do anything I need and well status is too young for me to have, but education is the “status” for us younger people and I have that too. Thank you God for these blessings and I never ever feel that my life is bad in anyway, and I really appreciate all these gifts of life that you have given me.

The only thing I am lacking is part of the most important thing, love. I have the love for other people and I also found the person I love, only thing is that person does not feel the same way. It is a very important part of my life but nobody can have the perfect life right? But I thank god that I am close to it.

To that person, come make my life perfect.

I may seem like the most heck care person or the joker of the group everywhere I go, but in actual fact, there are a lot of serious things that go through my head every second. But if I were to talk about this every time you meet me, wouldn’t I be the most boring person? To most of you all I definitely would be. With that I like to thank you all for taking some much time to read this extremely long post. Take care my friends=)

103 Onan Road Riot

So ok, i was first called in the morning to attend an EP launch for Silhouette and also go for the live and loaded gig. So as the day was still free i decided why not. So went down to scape, live and loaded first at 5pm till 7.30pm. AVA and AstroNinja was great. I bumped into millions of people. The scene fellas la, but then suddenly i saw omar and CJ. Apparently they were there for the gig also.

Then suddenly out of nowhere i see Alston walking into youthpark with 2 friends. I didnt really take notice of them as i was surprise to see him. Then suddenly one of is friend turn to me and said: "hey you are wailongs friend right". Then i realized, that it was Daphane. Ah huh, i knew my contacts in RP will soon find its way round to wailongs friends.

So i went for the EP launch, strangest thing was Liang was no where in sight when FBE was there. Then i saw Caracal perform, they were awesome man. Sean was arnd the corner so he and his friend came to meet me. And not surprisingly his friend knew Erwins friend Amanda.

After everything was over, most of them left but Omar and a couple of his friends together with Kevin and me went for the 103 Onan Road Riot Party. It was at Avery's studio, BIG EAR PRODUCTIONS. Do check that place out. Great Jamming studio. Address 103 Onan Road.

The most awesome fucking party ever. Lets just say Becardi 151 was a killer yea? Met alot of old friends, made a lot of new ones. Standards of a party yea?

Also im really thankful for this guy, Jean Thery. He offered to do the sound for "intoxication" thanks alot really if you happen to see this. Which brings me to my biggest worry. WHAT IF "INTOXICATION" is not as good as Onan Road Riot! Oh man, so people who see this, I go to partys alot, but this is the first time ORGANIZING one so cut me some slack yea?

Lastly, thanks alot Vans for taking care of my camera and also taking the photos throughout the party and Kevin Mark Anthony for taking care of me throughout the party. You both the bomb man! (One Atomic another Nuclear)

I must thank stefan for his book 2 days before the exam as without him my book was totally empty and i mean TOTALLY cause i have not gone for any lectures for any subject since after the first few weeks of school in sem 1. So yea, Thanks Stefan. Also i must thank God for this=)

Thats how proud i am of myself=) Well done Lester!

Tuesday 06/1/09

This day, is history is the making. Why? Let me tell you.
So ok, after class we decided to have lunch at design canteen. While waiting for my food, i suddenly started thinking of the party i had during christmas and that it was only for my church friends. (One Too Many & Groupies) So i decided to throw a huge ass party, and who better to be with me when i have this crazy ideas but Boo Guan Zhi. I was thinking huge ass bungalow, loud ear deafening music and drinks that will make you forget that you went for a party! So right there and then, i decided to mass msg my contacts and see wad date is suitable and Boo did the same. We came up with 27th Feb as the best date plus it is the start of our holidays! Being me i needed to have everything done proper so right after that i went down to the chalet and booked the thing. The rate was not that good but who cares! As long as the party is going to be awesome and it is! After thinking during class Boo and I decided the party shld be named "INTOXICATION". Boo and I have decided it shld become an annual FESTIVAL! So yea, cant wait for it man!

Wednesday 7/1/09

Today was our band's first jamming session after I got the gig at Arts house! We had our 2 hr session at Four Tones. The place was rather difficult to find and so yea we were extremely late! After that, we went to maxwell food centre for dinner and that was about it! It was an awesome day though, spend with all of them! So in the end we cut of all the rest of the fellas and only Sean, fel and I went for dinner. After much consideration, we decided on Botak Jones. In all my life i have heard wonders of this food outlet but have never tried!

So we had our dinner, the food was awesome i tell u, then after that we decided to go to the Blue Oasis Bar near our house for drinks. Although it is damn near all our house, we never patronize there before.

We soon realize the beauty of the place, cozy and comfortable, drinks were great and an added advantage, super near our home. Looks like we gonna be there more often yea guys? Love you two fuckers! haha!

We played some really difficult songs including Through the Fire and Flames. It was damn fun la. So after that, shaik had to go home early as usual! So we left at arnd 7pm.

So i decided to go straight to Yishun for Patricia's "Parents not at home" party! It was a great party, although for some reason we had many bottles of only Jim Beam and no other Whisky and oh we had Midouri also, it is an awesome Spirit i must say. Met alot of new people, Debby and friends! They were drunk as fuck after a while, the night was superb with the usual circle of deaths till most people died. Left for home at 7am! overall a spectacular day!

Saturday 10/1/09

This day was spend at home during the day, was really tired from all the activies the past few days! But by evening, i was hyped up again so yea, last min decided to catch a late night movie with Faizal and Omar at Cineleisure. Sunday 11/1/09

Woke up in the late morning, then had to leave after a while for the gig at Singapore Arts Museum! So yea, I reached there and was shock to find that CJ, Ossie and Alston also came along, it had been quite a while since is saw those bros of mine man. After lunch, went for the gig, it was a very nonsense gig where pple SAT down and watched the bands. But i must say there was this one band that was really very gd, their Saosin covers were awesome and originals were also really very tight.

After that, we went all the way to funan for dinner. Then headed home, had to rush out some work for the presentation the next day. Finished everything by 12. Then caught Gossip Girl, after a long break they are back and kicking. One of the best episodes so far=)

New Year, New Gadget, New Hobby=)

I just came back from Malaysia again, just went to some island near JB to relax for the weekend. After a long string of parties, this was a perfect getaway from the fast pace life that has been going on lately. I did some new stuff in Malaysia and played with something i never dreamed i would ever play with in my life. But i will leave those stories for the next post.

1st Jan 09 (Time is flying on an F16 fighter plane nowadays)
As of now, I want to blog about New Years Day itself. This is the day before i left for Malaysia btw so don get the dates mixed up. It was the happiest day for this year so far! haha! (It was only the first day of the year.)

So after the non stop daily parties, I wanted to spend new years day by myself for a few hours. During this time, i went to get something i wanted for quite a while now. Yes thats right my friends, I finally bought my SLR camera. I was considering between a Nikon D60 which cost $780 and a Nikon D40 which was going at $670. So after much consideration i realized i was going to pay $110 for just a 4.2 megapixel difference which actually has no different in picture quality unless you are going to enlarge the picture at least 20 times its original size. Everything else about both cameras are exactly the same.

And $110 is quite alot when it is my own money and not my dads, haha! So yea i chose the D40 but then, i saw some other nice lenses and so i decided why not just buy them as well? So in the end i spend close to $900 for the D40 with bag, tripod, screen protecter, lens protector upgrade to anti shake body and also a Wide Angle Lens and a Macro Lens.

It was worth it if you ask me and after that i felt really contented and so I was sure i did not waste my money. It was also just in time for my trip to Malaysia and that made me even more please with my buy.

That night, i went over to fletcher place for dinner since we didnt go over during christmas so yea, it was just a small get together with his family and the rest of the guys and gals. Left earlier to have a good sleep before the trip the next day.

As i mentioned earlier, I will post an entry of the Weekend getaway to Malaysia in my next post. As of now, i need to sleep. Tmr i have 2 freaking hours of school man! Wad could be worst is they are returning Macroecons results! You know how Lester and Econs are right? Worst then Oil and water that is!

Wish me luck and check back for the malaysia entry tmr!

Below are just a fraction of the pics taken, pardon the skills as i just started.

Where the party people at? MY HOUSE LAH!

Ok, so on the 29th of Dec I had a party at my house which i totally forgot to blog about and i just skipped straight to my New Years Eve post entitled "Happy I now can count Day".

So yea, here is the entry on MY party! So,I only invited the Christmas Group of Friends that i spend partying throughout the christmas season with so yea, to the rest of you guys, don get pissed at me or anything. I will throw another party at the end of the semester to mark the end of my first year in poly yea?

29th Dec 08
So anyway, preparation for the party started early, my grandma, mum and I cooked all the Christmas Stuff. Then my dad offered to pay for all the beer, i think he bought about 12 cartons. Multiply by 6 and yea thats 72 cans of beer! For like wad? Lets see, Kevin, Pat, Chris, Bev, Dragon,Alston,Ozzie,Jason,Arnold,Patrick,Fletcher,Martin,Erwin,Fel and Me. Thats like only 15 pple.

Then after that, i told him we wanted hard liquor as well, so he came up with this plan to just have this big drink dispenser, he filled it with a bottle of Jim Beam and then added coke. And he was like "nah, now you guys got boubon coke ready to drink". That really saved us a great deal of trouble really. Everyone came, had our dinner, drank wad we could then the whole group went down to chill more. Bought another bottle of bercadi, dewar's white label jim beam and also Malibu! We also still had beers left.

We drank till about 4 plus then Bev got abit drunk so ozzie, chris and I brought her back to my place to sleep it off. Went back down to continue drinking all the way till 6 plus then we went home. Chris, Pat and Kevin stayed over till morning and i had school. Haha. So since i woke up i decided to go to school anot i wld have slept through that day man! A wonderful night spend with the guys and girls once again.

Took a million pictures that night, credits to Patricia but decided to only upload 2.
